Add-A-Dollar to Support Families this Heating Season
The Add-A-Dollar program is a simple direct way to help families in need of support in our community. Donations made to the program provide assistance with heating costs.
Cindy Herman customer and co-owner of Starbeck's Smokehouse recently contributed the largest donation to the program to date. Cindy makes it a priority to give back to the community.
"I think it's important to help others and give back" says Cindy. "Most important to me is to give back though because I think we are very blessed."
Customers who are able to help can add a donation to their monthly utility bill. No administrative costs are charged so every dollar donated goes to help needy households.
“This donation is so thoughtful and generous of the Starbeck's owners and Cindy personally” says Steve Bernard CFU General Manager.
“With high natural gas market prices expected this winter some families may be hit especially hard. The Add-A-Dollar program and this contribution will provide a way to help our friends and neighbors who may be struggling.”
To add a donation to your bill fill out the online form available at cfu.net/dollar.
Or complete the Add-A-Dollar section of your monthly CFU statement and mail it back. All Add-A-Dollar contributions are tax deductible and a year-to-date report is included on your monthly statement.
The City of Cedar Falls Department of Community Development administers the Add-A-Dollar funds and determines households that qualify.
