Get a Performance Report Card with Your Seasonal AC Tune-Up

Spring is a great time to schedule a seasonal air conditioner tune-up with your preferred heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) service provider and now you can expect a third-party report card with performance results.

Preventative maintenance can reduce the risk of costly repairs and help extend the life of the system. In addition, a well-maintained HVAC system operates more efficiently, lowers utility costs and helps keep your home comfortable.

"This year, thanks to a new collaboration with CFU, your local HVAC contactor should be able to provide a data-backed report card with your tune-up," says Matt Hein, CFU Energy Services Manager.

Recently, the CFU Energy Services team worked with area HVAC service providers to implement a new program to digitally measure the performance of heating and cooling equipment. MeasureQuick is a third-party platform that connects directly to tools used to collect and analyze system data.

HVAC service providers use Bluetooth enabled tools to gather and compare hundreds of data points simultaneously in real-time to identify any faults. Once completed, a customer-friendly report card is generated with a system score.

"We're excited to bring the MeasureQuick program to Cedar Falls," says Matt.

"Our community works hard to ensure our homes are efficient. But we all know that heating and cooling our homes account for a majority of our energy use. The MeasureQuick program will provide customers with real-time data to ensure this equipment is operating as efficiently as it can."

If issues are identified, the report will offer solutions to assist with troubleshooting and provide options for cost-effective repairs.

"We are all used to taking our car in for maintenance and having it hooked up to a computer that details a specific problem," adds Matt.

"This is what we can expect for the future of HVAC equipment."

The MeasureQuick program can be used at the time of installation, a tune-up or service call for HVAC equipment. Be sure to ask your provider for your report card at any of these times.
