No PFAS Detected in CFU Water Sources
Cedar Falls Utilities recently completed water quality testing for PFAS (polyfluoroalkyl substances). We are happy to share that no PFAS were detected in CFU water sources.
PFAS have been in the news recently and are sometimes referred to as “forever chemicals”. PFAS are man-made chemicals that have been used in industry and consumer products worldwide since the 1940s. They have been used to make nonstick cookware water-repellent clothing stain resistant fabrics and carpets some cosmetics some firefighting foams and products that resist grease water and oil.
CFU is committed to providing high quality and safe water to our customers. We regularly perform water quality tests on our source water and throughout the distribution system. CFU will complete additional PFAS testing at all well sites in December of 2023.
